I am a teaching pro, and have about a 2 handicap this year, so my game is fair and advanced. Over the last few months I have been playing with a new ball, Top-Flite Gamer. Yeah I know Top-Flite is not known for tour quality balls, but his one breaks the mold.
Looking at Golf Digest robot test it rates #3 or 4 in spin rates depending on which Launch angle you prefer. It is a 3-piece constructions, with excellent soft feel and Top-Flite well known distance. It does two things the Pro V1 cannot do. It last for 18 holes without getting beat and chewed up, and cost $18 for 15 balls.
So if you want a ball that can dance on the green, but hate paying almost $4 per ball, might want to swallow your pride sometime and give them a try if you are an advanced player.
