 | September 28, 2010, 11:38 pm - (1 year ago) Well after purchasing my new clubs about two weeks ago, I finally went and played a round today. I know this isn't as good as you guys on here play, but the 3 older gentlemen who I played with today told me for my first game ever it wasn't bad at all. I shot a 96 which I was kind of surpised of myself.
I did find out that this is a harder game than I thought it would be. My biggest problem is my aim. I thought I would be hitting it in the direction I wanted and found that I would be hitting it either farther left or right than what I thought I was. I have watched many YouTube videos and have been hitting whiffle balls in my front yard. Can some please tell me a way to help line myself up for a shot to go where I want it to go.
Plus I am driving the ball very wel they said. I am hitting it straight as an arrow and in the 300 yd+ on most drives. Here is an example of another problem. We were on a par 4 325yds, I drive it to within 15 yds of the green and the older gentlemen were saying they wished they could drive like that. Then here comes the down fall. It takes me 5 more hits to get it on the green. I either don't hit it hard enough or I hit it over the green. I know it will take time to get it all down, but I got very frustated with myself in my play, for I am one who learns quickly and I do get down on myself if I can't get something.
Oh yeah I am 47 and maybe I should have started this earlier in life.
